Rainbow Chakras Meditation

Lesson Summary

The text outlines a guided meditation session aimed at aligning the chakras and establishing a connection with Mother Earth. The meditation includes:

  • Deep breathing techniques
  • Chanting
  • Visualization exercises
  • Affirmations

These components are utilized to integrate the qualities of the various energy centers into daily life. The session incorporates physical movements to ground awareness, bringing participants back to the present moment. The practice concludes with a chant for peace to enhance relaxation, awareness, and overall well-being.

The chakra meditation practice involves focusing on individual energy centers within the body:

  • Root chakra at the base of the spine
  • Chanting specific mantras associated with each chakra, from root to crown

Participants are guided to connect with each chakra, commencing with the root and progressing upward to the crown while chanting corresponding seed mantras. By engaging in deep breathing and visualization, individuals can release energy blockages, concentrate effectively, and achieve a sense of calm and focus. The session wraps up with chanting the universal "Om" mantra to harmonize and unify all chakras.

This first chakras meditation is taken from Anhata Yoga and the meditation program curriculum I attended. This is a western occult influenced practice as known by the inclusion of the rainbow chakra system. The book ____ was the first book that shared the ideas that the chakras embodies the colors of the rainbow. The chakra system in the west is also heavily influenced by the psychologist Carl Jung whom studied the first book translated for the west from the book _____ and psychologist _______ then related psychological aspects to the system. As one of my teachers shared, yoga is about non attachment and as we begin to see Jung's influence as the psychology then adds layers of attachment to relate to the chakras.
